How Rounding Up Works

  • 12.1 rounds up to 13 (not 12)
  • 12.9 rounds up to 13 (standard rounding would also give 13)
  • 12.01 rounds up to 13 (even tiny fractions round up)
  • 12.0 stays 12 (already a whole number, no rounding needed)

Key Difference from Standard Rounding

Standard Rounding: 12.3 → 12 (rounds down because 3 < 5)

Rounding Up: 12.3 → 13 (always rounds up, ignores the 5 rule)
